#WWDC highlights: iPhone 4 now a true smartphone. Steve leapfrogs rivals by years with iOS, gets really anxious about Google

There were quite a few interesting things presented at Apple, Steve Jobs, Apple WWDC Home.

iPhone 4 catch our attention. And it really is a great device. Specwise, iPhone 4 came later than other high-end smartphones in every way that matters. Since the iPhone OS had the best user experience at all, and other providers was based iPhone sorely missed features to promote their flagship, this is a very large cast.

But, in my humble opinion, an even more important, occurred during the WWDC opening. Hiding behind a name change iPhone iOS4 simple operating system, was the official statement from Apple that have a major new computing platform – IOS. And new computing paradigm ad based on a lightweight, power and resources efficiently, connected OS. Most of the competition was completely caught by surprise by this change again, and take at least a year to even begin to put up.

With the exception of Google, which emerged as the main competitor to Apple now.

iPhone 4 will finally become a true high-end smartphone

My Take away four big announcement is that the iPhone iPhone has finally becamcomes true high-end smartphone.

Yes, the iPhone has been high end, very popular, always the best user experience, tons of interesting applications, and what not. But the feature / spec rational yet been put up in the standard market for smartphones. All that time to justify this or that feature is missing does not matter, to become a major, must take place in the next iPhone.

Remember "Who needs 3G when you have WiFi?", Bluetooth, copy and paste, 2 megapixel camera is good enough, multitasking?

The strength of the iPhone was always far superior user experience, not specifications. But these missing features and specifications at the top of the line, high-end mobile phones, allows competitors to promote their offerings as a superior, despite its shortcomings general UX.

Well, no. 4 With the iPhone, the top competition in the smart phone market became considerably more difficult. iPhone 4 is now good enough for 95% of potential customers high-end smartphone. My guess is, the writers of upcoming ago "Droid" campaign will take a lot of rethinking to do.

Over the next 4-6 months, at $ 500-700price range smartphone, the iPhone is still the only viable competitor to Android. Although somewhat limited in overall usability, Android (2.1/2.2 and next version of gingerbread) have a good enough UX, tight integration with Google, and another cloud and social services. It is a much more open platform with great appeal for more technical.

The last wish HTC Android phones, Incredible, EVO 4G, Samsung S Galaxy, Motorola Milestone XT720 – look very attractive when compared with iPhone 3Gs. But with the iPhone, 4 the game for marketers Android was much more difficult.

Other providers / platforms in 2010 – Symbian Nokia, Samsung Bada, Palm WebOS, expensive feature phones – the players are not here (at the top), and is the only competition in the markets mid-tier/mass to $ 450 and lower price points. Rumor meegin Nokia device is a bit of a wildcard, but Q4 is coming up, and even if very good, take time to track the sales team, so it will probably be a point of discussion for competitive environment in 2010.

iPhone OS becomes IOS 4. A new computing platform connected toApple

Starting this week, Apple officially started a new computing platform online.

Until this year, we were accustomed to thinking of the iPhone OS, such as the Apple platform for smartphones and other handhelds like the iPod Touch. When it was first launched in 2007, the iPhone OS was presented as a mini version of OSX.

This year, when Apple introduced IPADE – with the same iPhone-OS was revealed that some may have greater ambitions for this operating system. But we were still guessing. This week it became official. The new platform has been stripped of clothes and baby iPhone became IOS 4.

Kind of reminds me of another great name change to Apple. Until 2007 we used to know this company like Apple Computer Inc. In that time, key metrics for success were related to Apple computers. Yes, I had iTunes, iPod, Apple TV and what not. But ads like these all have great new Mac OSX and new features. Most of Apple's revenue also has a direct bearing on personal computers.

Then in 2007, dropping "computer" in the name of the company, Apple says clearly that not considered a teammore business. They are much more than that.

Fast forward to today – while next to the computer company still has a lot of Apple's revenue, provided that at least keep up with market trends, nobody cares much about . In comparison with the media frenzy a few years ago, I would say new Mac ads are greeted with a collective yawn, as are new iterations of OSX, as Snow Leopard.

And Monday opening of WWDC, Steve Jobs did not mention Mac OSX or even once! Along with the renaming of the IOS, the signal is very clear. Apple is still milking cash cow business of computers in the coming years, improving as the market demands. But the thing of the past.

Apple is the main platform of devices now – it's IOS 4. I think that is about to enter each device connected to Apple here.

IOS could have been disguised mini OSX version for smartphones and pocket-size devices, but is designed as a platform for greater computing from the beginning. In retrospect, one can clearly see that in many multi-touch patent application was submitted to Apple and Steve Jobs did admit DuriD8 ng interview.

This now looks like a costume of the most brilliant plays by Steve Jobs. When you think about it, there was no reason for Apple to make a great phone, prior to IOS in a tablet. In fact, with its functioning in a pocket-sized device, it must have been a much harder task. But diverting everyone's attention on what can be done by IOS smartphones, Apple's built a new generation online platform, with a Narya realize the competition. Most of the jumping competition for at least a year.

And to build the most active and vibrant ecosystem around the new platform. Apple now has 100 million of IOS devices out there (a number is a bit exaggerated, because not all IOS devices sold are still in operation). They have hundreds of thousands of developers working on software for the new platform. The IOS has already generated $ 1 billion in direct revenue for developers. Add to indirect advertising revenues, sales generated through various applications IOS, all services that arose throughout the application development IOS, and the financial printing becomes even morevoice.

What competition?

For now, Microsoft is a non-holder in this new paradigm of computing the light line. Operating system is Windows 7 is just OK for netbooks, and after IPADE desperate for pills. Your smart phone operating system WP7 – even be ready for the market for the next 5 months. Its lightweight compact integrated compressed Windows 7 seems right in concept stage and not ready for at least a year.

Nokia / Intel's meegin could become a good computing platform connected to a light day. And we may see the first Nokia devices meegin this year, but this is new, just a smart phone. Meegin not be ready for a major factor devices until sometime in 2011.

WebOS? Now that HP bought, can have something interesting to show time. But do not come back until later next year.

Apple is pissed off / upset over Google

Having a one year, or greater advantage, before its main competitors can even start thinking about putting up, is something hardly seen in the technology industry. And, with its iPhone OS brilliant bad address, Steve Jobs, got it.

With the exception of one, unlikely competitor – Google. I do not know why Google decided to enter the platform of their own business. Maybe something is learned, Eric Schmidt, was on board when Apple. Or maybe it was just a natural evolution of the company, after becoming the fabric of the Internet. But as unlikely as it might have seemed a few years ago, Google's main competitor Apple.

They are also gaining ground on Apple, Steve Jobs, and doing so quite nervous and pissed off.

Just look at the knee Apple automatic reactions to each statement that Android is becoming bigger than the iPhone. A series of pot shots taken by Steve at Google in his speech WWDC. Ban from the Google network AdMob IOS applications, with blatant anti-competitive act, even at the risk of inviting federal control of their practices …

This shows that Apple feels very uneasy by Google. I have reason to feel that way. If only because of the speed of light main Google OS is evolving.

Last year, when the iPhone OS iPhone 3Gs 3 and up, Android was 1.5. A really crude, immature, not ready for a greater incorporation of the operating system. But when tOok create iOS4 Apple, Google went for Android 1.6, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, and now offers a powerful and easy to use smartphone OS. In the next 3-6 months to transform this system was operating on a platform full of fact and law lightweight computer that works well on tables for netbooks, televisions and other things.

Apple still has at least six months instead of Google, but this is far less of a break then Apple would have had if Google had been glued to it's traditional business.

Anyway, I'm looking for a Google vs Apple showdown pretty interesting this fall. And next year, when other competitors had time to process what just happened, and react to it, the fireworks are just bigger.
