As of today, the Bada OS-based Samsung Wave S8500 is finally available in Canada – and never only at Bell, as rumored a pair of months ago, but additionally at Rogers.
If you’re lucky enough to be a Bell customer, be sure you know that its Samsung Wave is way cheaper than the Rogers version. I’m actually stunned at the no contract price on Bell: only $299.95. With a three-yr agreement, Bell offers the Wave for $29.95 – that you would be able to buy it online here.
Rogers, on any other hand, sells the Wave S8500 for $99.99 with a three-yr agreement, or for $474.99 freed from contract – check it out here on the carrier’s website.
The Wave S8500 is Samsung’s first smartphone to apply Bada OS. It features a lot of neat features, like a three.3 inch WVGA Super AMOLED touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, GPS, 5MP autofocus camera, HD video recording, and a 1GHz processor.
Apart from launching the Wave, today Bell has also introduced the Samsung Entro, a touchscreen featurephone with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, GPS, and a 1.3MP camera.
The Entro costs $29.95 with a three-yr contract, or $149.95 freed from contract. that you may get it here.
The world’s first smartphone to have an integrated pico-projector got a launch day for Singapore.
It shall be available to play with in StarHub stores ranging from July 10th and sales will start on July 17th.
It may also be yours from free to SG$ 398, dependent on the monthly price plan you select.
Without a doubt, this phone’s main feature is the inbuilt Texas Instruments-supplied pico projector. It allows you to create projections of multimedia content out of your device varying from 5 to 50 inches in size.
But here is by no means a one-trick-pony. even though you’re not drawn to beaming with the Beam (see what I did there?), here’s one solid Android smartphone. And let’s not forget that it comes with one of the most important batteries ever to be put in a phone, so I don’t think we’ll be hearing that its battery life is analogous to that of the HTC EVO 4G any time soon.
Anyway, full list of what to expect is here:
Novelty? Yes. Oddity? Maybe. But still, I will’t wait to get my hands on one.
Which jogs my memory… Samsung… global availability please?

It feels like a brand new OTA update is coming soon to Verizon’s HTC Droid Incredible, and while this won’t change the Android version it’s running (it’s still going to be 2.1, although Froyo must be on its way, too), it’s going to bring two new important features.
According to Droid-life, the Incredible could have mobile hotspot capability, while its camera shall be capable of shoot HD (720p) video – these new features will make the Droid from HTC seem less dated in comparison to the Motorola Droid X.
Another new thing that the imminent OTA update will bring is the Droid Red Eye boot animation (probably not useful, but definitely cool).
A couple of imagery and a video that appear to prove this alleged update is legit:
Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on the date the OTA update shall be released.
By the manner, in case you’ve preordered the Droid Incredible and didn’t receive it yet, you’re going to have the ability to get the Droid X instead (starting July 15).
There are quite a couple of Android handsets in India at the instant, but none of them works on CDMA networks. Reliance (one of India’s top three mobile carriers) is set to repair this by launching the Samsung Galaxy i899.
Also available in China (via China Telecom), the Samsung Galaxy i899 is a mid-end phone that includes a three.2 inch AMOLED display with 320 x 480 pixels, Wi-Fi, GPS, DivX support, Bluetooth, 3.2MP autofocus camera with flash, MicroSD card support, and an 800MHz processor.
The Galaxy i899 seems to run Android 1.5 or 1.6.
Reliance doesn’t say how much the Samsung Galaxy i899 will cost, but interested customers can take a look at the carrier’s website for more details.

Now, that each other major competitor chimed in about Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade plans for his or her smartphones, Samsung will not be left behind.
They used yesterday big U.S. launch event, to substantiate that Samsung Galaxy S smartphones shall be getting Android Froyo update to boot.
And, identical to HTC yesterday, Samsung was pretty vague about exactly after they plan to try this. To be more exact, they never mentioned Froyo upgrade timeline in any respect.
Which isn’t excellent news. If, like Motorola with their Droid X, Samsung had any plans for early Froyo upgrade this summer, we’d have heard that mentioned yesterday.
As things stand at this time, I won’t expect Froyo on Samsung Galaxy S earlier then mid-fall, at best. And by that point, with Android Gingerbread out, Froyo won’t look as interesting anymore.
