MWC 2011: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Debut Moment Caught “On Tape” (Video)

Monday 31 January 2011 @ 10:17 am

We’ve managed to record the moment when Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Tab 10.1 slate at MWC 2011, for you all to see. Credits go out to Zsolt Tamassy and our sister site Mobilissimo.ro. Fun times at MWC and the 10 inch tablet with Honeycomb looks really promising, although it doesn’t bring the appealing 3D functions of the LG Optimus Pad.

The real appeal of this slate is the fact that it comes with an 8 megapixel camera and a bigger display than the LG Optimus Pad for example. The difference isn’t big and we should see a couple of benchmarks and the price before deciding which is best.

Samsung Galaxy S II Teased in new video

Sunday 30 January 2011 @ 10:17 am

Samsung just teased the public again with the clip below, showing the beauty of sharing moments via the brand new Galaxy S smartphone. Although the device is yet to receive an official name, we’ll call it Samsung Galaxy S II right now and you should know that it’ll be officially introduced at MWC 2011, on February 13th.

The handset looks incredibly thin and honestly we’re expecting it to be an upgraded Samsung Nexus S. The Samsung Unpacked website is handling the promotion and teasing. Also, if you’re interested in the launch event, know that the Asian phone maker will offer an exclusive feed on its Facebook page.

Although we have no specs, recent rumors have been mentioning a new Super AMOLED Plus display for the Galaxy II, with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and a Tegra 2 dual core CPU. Now, how many days till Barcelona?

HTC Thunderbolt Delayed on Verizon, In Spite of Dummy Arrival in Stores

Saturday 29 January 2011 @ 11:13 am

Although the HTC Thunderbolt dummies have arrived in Verizon stores, it appears the real device will be delayed indefinitely, according to recent leaked info. The handset was supposed to debut on February 14, just in time for Valentine’s Day sales.

Speculations claim that the delay is due to the WiFi hotspot not working (at all or properly) on the LTE handset. It would be real sad to miss this handset’s scheduled launch date and disappoint the public, but everyone’s willing to wait for this hot dual core smartphone. If you’re interested in other Verizon products, know that their 4G mobile hotspot has also been delayed, so it won’t make the scheduled February 17 launch date.

Motorola to Manufacture Next Nexus Google Phone?

Tuesday 25 January 2011 @ 11:13 am

After the HTC-made Nexus One and the Samsung Nexus S, it might be Motorola’s turn to give the Google Phone a try. The rumor comes from Advertiser Talk and it fits with Google’s tendency to keep things varied and not go with the same partner every time it creates a product.

This “no favourites” policy also makes us think of LG and Sony Ericsson as potential candidates to developing the next Nexus model. The launch could be closer than we think, as Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich is getting ready for release, without a specific date mentioned. Considering the looks of the Sony Ericsson Arc, we’d love SE to develop the new Nexus model, but a Moto smartphone without Motoblur sure sounds good.
